Jeffrey James Harris

Jeffrey James Harris, 66, of Carbondale, KS, died March 29, 2026, at his home in Carbondale. He was born in Battle Creek, IA, on December 31, 1959, the son of Betty Ann (Harris) Edkin and John J. Harris.

Jeffrey served in the U.S. Army for 4 years, stationed in Germany, where he repaired tanks. He worked for Standard Hart in Topeka, KS, for 20 years after attending Kaw Area Technical School’s Printing Technology course.

He was divorced from Rita Bigler Deer, and they had one son, James Paul Harris. Other survivors include siblings Joan M. (Harris) Veronie, Scott K. Harris, Wayne E. Edkin, and Shelly L. Myers.

Preceded in death by his parents, John Junior Harris and Betty Edkin; brothers Michael John Harris and John Harris Jr.; and sisters Linda Ann (Harris) Selbach and Marla (Harris) Long.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held for immediate family.
