Katrece Meshia Guliford

–

Topeka, Kansas

Katrece Meshia Gulilford, 52, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, at Stormont Vail Health Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.

Born on October 24, 1973, to Deloris “Lois” Guliford, God blessed our family with her gentle presence. A quiet, beautiful soul inside and out. She carried herself with a calm spirit that the Bible describes as a priceless gift. Soft‑spoken and observant, she loved family gatherings, listening to stories, and absorbing the joy around her. When something amused her, she would flash her sweet little side‑smile and say “un‑uh” or “un‑uh girl,” in that special way only she could. Being with family warmed her heart, and the bond she shared with us was tender, real, and unforgettable.

She attended Lakeview Centennial High School in Garland, TX but graduated from Topeka High School in May 1993 and later attended Washburn University. She earned her certification and devoted her life to serving others as a Certified Medical Aide (CMA). She cared deeply for her patients, often working double shifts or coming in on her days off. Even when she became ill, she worried more about returning to work than caring for herself. We reminded her often that God would provide for her, and that her health mattered most.

Curious and thoughtful, Katrece loved exploring new things and even traveled to the continent of Africa, embracing its beauty with joy. She never married and had no children, yet she poured love into her nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Deloris “Lois” Guliford. Left to cherish her memory are her four devoted sisters: Michelle Guliford, Patsy Page (Richards), Colletta M. Guliford, and Areta A. Huckaby. Her nieces and nephews include Shaunelle Page + Grover Page, Jaaron Davis + Jaiden Huckaby, and Michael Guilford + Corey Guilford. A host of great‑nieces and great‑nephews, extended family, and dear friends also remain to cherish her memory.

Katrece’s life was gentle, loving, hardworking, and full of strength. She touched our hearts deeply, and her memory will forever remain a cherished part of our family. May she rest in heavenly peace, soar above the heavens, and take her rightful place in the loving arms of our God.
